Getting Here by Public Transport:

Windermere is very accessible by train: there is a branch line from Oxenholme The Lake District (which is on the West Coast Main Line) to Windermere. Trains are operated by Transpennine Express, and run approximately hourly. The journey from Oxenholme to Windermere takes approximately 20 minutes.

The Windermere Centre is approximately 15 minutes’ walk from Windermere railway station: head out of the station and turn left to join the main road, which will take you down through the village of Windermere – keep going until you reach the Baddeley Clock Tower on the left, where you need to take a right turn and walk up past the Carver Uniting Church (on the right hand side) until you reach the Windermere Centre, which is next door to the Church.

If you don’t want to walk, you can get a taxi from the station (which will normally cost somewhere in the region of £4), or take the 599 bus (headed to Bowness), which runs roughly every 20 minutes during the summer, though it is much less frequent during the winter.
